Bulletproofing your joints for better movement: Ankles, Knees and Hips
- 2 hour long workshop with Chase.
If you would like to maintain and/or improve your mobility - whether or not you practice asana in pursuit of yoga - this course is for you. Chase is a certified Functional Range Conditioning "movement specialist". We will be using the principles of FRC and the mountains of research conducted by its developers.
Do you want to develop a more active, engaged practice? Would you like to reduce your risk of injury and develop a routine to ensure musculoskeletal longevity (duh)? Do you frequently stretch, but still find that you feel "tight" and unable to achieve movement goals?
Most of our flexibility/mobility limitations are actually a function of our strength and of our nervous system. Our bodies decide, if you can't move there, you can't move there.
In this workshop, we will explore mobility as a function of strength. We will introduce a morning/evening routine for maintaining our owned mobility. We will then explore some techniques aimed at safely and efficiently expanding our ranges of motion--closing the gap between our passive and active ranges by strengthening the connective tissue in and around the joints and proving to our nervous system that we intend to use these end ranges.
Finally, we will discuss how to incorporate these techniques into our daily yoga practice.
