Yoga has proven to be a great way to prepare your mind and body for both childbirth and postpartum recovery. Yoga helps us relax, encourages wellbeing and thus increases the probability of a good experience throughout the pregnancy and birth.
As our bodies change during pregnancy we have to pay extra attention to what our bodies need and what to be careful about. In this course we’ll go through the necessary precautions when we exercise, allowing us to continue our practice throughout the pregnancy. We’ll also go through how we can help strengthen our minds and bodies to prepare for labor, through asanas, breathing exercises and meditation. Discussions and questions will be welcome and each class will end with a short relaxation.
During the course you’ll learn:
*How you can safely exercise during pregnancy
*To use your breath to help you relax during physical effort
*To get through discomfort, such as contractions, by focusing on relaxation and ease
*To strengthen appropriate muscles and body parts to prepare the body for birth
What you’ll get out of the course:
*Confidence to stay active during pregnancy
*A better understanding of your physical and emotional body and the changes happening within you
*Being better prepared for the contractions leading up to the birth
*A more prepared mind and body for both the birth and the changes following

ABOUT ELMA
Elma has practiced yoga for more than a decade and yoga has long become a part of her daily life. She’s participated in various yoga, breathing and meditation courses. Desiring to take her yoga studies further, she went to India where she studied with Klara Kalkusova, Guru Suresh and more. She has since then taught both hatha and vinyasa based classes. After adding studies in pregnancy yoga teaching and doula training, she has moved more and more on that path, holding private lessons and teaching courses for pregnant persons. Elma studied pregnancy yoga with Jennifer Moore, owner of Dolphin Yoga, but Jennifer has prepared thousands of women for birth through pregnancy yoga and attended over 450 births as a doula. In her classes, Elma focuses on the importance of embodiment and mindfulness, hoping to encourage her students to listen inwards and deepen the relationship with themselves.
TESTIMONIALS
Practicing prenatal yoga with Elma was exactly what I was looking for, in a cosy and relaxing environment.
While I practiced yoga every day before my pregnancy, I suddenly felt unsafe practicing on my own and put my habit aside for a few months, much to my regret as I know how beneficial prenatal yoga is during pregnancy.
Elma gave us all the keys to a safe practice during pregnancy, sharing helpful tips in the lead-up to the birth, guiding us through meditation, visualization, gentle practice, and knowledge of our bodies during this magical time.
I now feel that I can practice on my own in the best possible way to enjoy my last trimester with peace of mind.
I am very thankful to have crossed her path! Thank you, Elma!

I really loved the course. I thought it was very helpful in learning how to adjust our yoga practice and learning about our bodies during pregnancy with different common poses. I think as the pregnancy progresses the material we learned in class will be very helpful. I particularly liked learning about the rocking technique and doing the wall sits with movement to simulate pain during contractions and how to draw focus away from the pain.
-Bekka, 7 weeks with 2nd child
I'd been practicing yoga intensively before getting pregnant (with my first child) and didn't want to stop doing it during pregnancy. Yet, I felt that the new state of my body required some specific adjustments, and here Elma's prenatal yoga course came in help. It provided me with needful theoretical knowledge and practical tips that were well structured and clearly conveyed. After this course, I was able to adjust my yoga practice by myself and continued attending regular classes with higher confidence.
I can recommend Elma’s course to every yogi willing to get a good basis for their practice while being pregnant.
